Message from Denise Fitzgerald, CEO Children's Health Foundation
After 17 years of serving as Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation (and previously, Temple Street Foundation) I made the decision last November to move on to new challenges and will be leaving the organisation at the end of January 2023.
I have been very lucky to see first-hand the amazing work undertaken every single day by the fantastic teams across Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. I’m thinking in particular of our little patients and their parents who have made an imprint on me, their courage and strength during very difficult times is something I admire so much.
Everyone I’ve met during my time with the Foundation has our patients at the heart of everything that they do, and I have had the pleasure and honour of working with amazing teams of colleagues over the years, in the Foundation and Children’s Health Ireland. Thanks to your support, these are the people who get to make the magic happen.
The Board have appointed an interim CEO, Mr Hugh Kane, to support the Foundation over the coming month, until the Board commence the recruitment of a permanent CEO.

As I reflect on the significant contribution Denise has made to the Foundation, the hospital’s and for sick children, I would simply like to thank Denise for her tireless work.
Denise and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff, board, members, colleagues, friends, partners and supporters for supporting Children’s Health Foundation’s vision of ensuring every sick child has the very best chance.
