Case Study - Tesco

Tesco Ireland has partnered with Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street to give every sick child the best possible chance since 2014. Over that time, Tesco has raised an incredible €6 million which has funded a huge range of vital life-saving equipment, including a CT scanner and a new EEG system for CHI at Temple Street’s neurological department.

Tesco’s commitment, hard work and kindness to sick children in CHI at Temple Street has been remarkable. Our partnership is multi-faceted and reaches all corners of Ireland. Each year, Tesco holds multiple fundraising initiatives from in-store events to golf classics, from the creation of specific products to sponsored cycles; they have done it all.

Each of Tesco’s 151 stores have been instrumental in fundraising, and their 45,000 colleagues all get involved.

Their enthusiasm for ensuring every sick child has the best chance is second to none and their commitment has made vast improvements to life at CHI at Temple Street.

Additionally, Tesco run multiple campaigns throughout the year to involve their customers in their fundraising. One week per quarter, customers can add €1 to their grocery bill which is donated directly Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street. Customers can also buy products, such as flowers and bottled water, where a portion of the sale price is donated to us. Each Christmas, Tesco create and sell a teddy with all funds generated going to Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street.
