CHF Tesco Partnership Logo

Tesco Ireland has partnered with Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street to give every sick child the best possible chance since 2014.

Over that time, Tesco has raised an incredible €7 million which has funded 330 pieces of vital life-saving equipment, including a new EEG system for CHI at Temple Street’s neurological department. The biggest piece of equipment funded by Tesco so far has been the new CT-Scanner.

Our partnership with Tesco is multi-faceted. Below are the different ways Tesco raise their life-saving donations and how you can get involved in their fundraising.

Tesco Partnership

At several points throughout the year, Tesco give their customers the opportunity to add €1 onto their grocery shop and donate to Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street.

Make sure to keep an eye on social media to see when this campaign is in operation. The next time you can donate at the checkout will be October 25th - 31st.

Christmas Teddy

Each Christmas, Tesco create and sell a cuddly teddy in aid of Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street. The name of the teddy is always chosen by a CHI at Temple Street patient, and it normally goes on sale in the run-up to Christmas. Keep an eye on our social media for 2021’s teddy!

Tesco Bouquets

Throughout the year, Tesco sell two bouquets of flowers, where a portion of the sale price is donated to Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street. These bouquets are priced at €10 and €15 and can be purchased in any Tesco store across the country.

Golf Classic

Every Summer, Tesco invite their partners and suppliers to take part in a golf classic in Dún Laoghaire Golf Course. This is a highly engaging event, which allows Tesco’s stakeholders to get involved and help ensure every sick child has the best possible chance.

Lap of the Lough Charity Cycle

Tesco colleagues take part in an annual sponsored cycle, which follows the route around Lough Ree in Longford and Westmeath. Again, this is a highly engaging event for Tesco colleagues and raises vital funds for lifesaving equipment.

Christmas Light Up

Tesco help organise turning the hospital into a Christmas wonderland for the patients and their families. A DJ plays Christmas songs, a choir singing Christmas carols and Santa arrives with his helpers to turn on the lights with a patient and their family. Santa then goes around the wards with Tesco colleagues to deliver presents to patients who couldn’t make it down to the light up.
