Your Legacy could be their future

Leave a Gift in Your Will

We are forever grateful to our supporters – people just like you – who give so generously to help Ireland’s sick children. Every gift makes a difference and allows us to give the children in Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres the very best chance. The gifts people make during their lifetime, but also after their passing enable:

  • The funding of new and cutting-edge services and treatments.
  • The investment in new life-saving equipment.
  • The funding of world-class research.

Powerful Way to Make a difference

Including a gift to Children’s Health Foundation in your Will is a powerful way to make a positive difference to the chances for sick children in Ireland, far beyond your lifetime. Every gift that is entrusted to us will be put to work where it is needed most, ensuring that our children, grandchildren and future generations receive the best possible standard of care and support – today, tomorrow, forever.

We understand that you will want to ensure you take care of your family as a priority. Once loved ones are taken care of, your Will provides a tremendous opportunity to help secure the future of work that matters to you, like caring for and curing little heroes.

No Gift is too Small

And it’s simple to do. Talk it over with your family and loved ones; then speak to your solicitor about drafting or revising your Will. You’re under no obligation to inform us, but we would like the opportunity to thank you and to discuss what you hope your gift will accomplish.

No gift is too small to make a difference or help save a life. Even as little as 1% of your estate will help ensure we can continue to be there when the children need us most.

"A few years ago, I became a dad. As soon as my son was born, I started thinking about the future and I decided that it was time to make a Will. It was very easy; I just spoke to my solicitor and she guided me through the process. Making a Will allows you to take care of your family after you are gone and it’s also an opportunity to help support work that matters to you."

Ways you can include Children’s Health Foundation in your Will

The kind of legacy gift you leave is entirely up to you – every gift, of every size, will make real and lasting difference to what we are able to achieve in CHI hospitals and urgent care centres

  • A Pecuniary Gift – a specific monetary gift.
  • A Residuary Gift – the remainder of your estate after all other bequests to family and friends have been distributed and all outgoings have been resolved.
  • A Specific Gift – you can leave a specific item such as property, stocks, shares or other valuables.
  • A Reversionary Gift – a gift in which a named person has access to your estate. Upon their death, the estate reverts to the charity.

And if you’ve already made a Will and are considering changing it to include Children’s Health Foundation, all you need to do is speak to your solicitor about adding a codicil. A codicil is a legally binding document that details any changes that are made to a Will.

Remember, it’s always advisable to speak to a solicitor and explore your options before making or changing a Will.
