DIY Monster Masks!

Hello there, young artists and crafty creators!

Let’s get Halloween off to a monstrous start by creating your very own monster mask.

These monsters are already designed and ready to print. All you need to do is print them out, add some vibrant colours and designs, cut along the dotted lines, attach a string, and presto – you’re ready to wear your monstrous masterpiece!

What You’ll Need:

  • Monster Mask Printouts: You can download the printables here.
  • Crayons, Coloured Pencils, or Markers: Pick your favourite colours, or better yet, use all the colours of the rainbow!
  • Scissors: Ask a grown-up for help if you need it.
  • Yarn or String: This will help you wear your mask like a real monster!

Step 1 : Choose your Monster Mask

Take a look at the monsters we have available to colour in. Do you prefer Mank or Mag? What about Mane or Mash? Choose your favourite and print it out.

Step 2: Get Decorating

Now comes the fun part! Grab your crayons, coloured pencils, or markers and start colouring your monster. Remember, monsters can be any colour you want – green, blue, pink, or purple. Don’t forget, you can even add polka dots or stripes! Make them as wild and wacky as your imagination allows.

Step 3: Cut it Out

With your monster all coloured in, it’s time to carefully cut it out. Ask an adult for help if you need to, especially when cutting out the eye holes. Follow the dotted lines and get your monster in-shape.

Step 4: Attach the Strap

To wear your mask, you’ll need to attach yarn or string. Ask a grown-up to help you poke small holes on either side of your mask. Then, thread the yarn or string through the holes and tie a knot.  Make sure it’s long enough to fit comfortably around your head.

Step 5: Show off your Monster Mask

To wear your mask, you’ll need to attach yarn or string. Ask a grown-up to help you poke small holes on either side of your mask. Then, thread the yarn or string through the holes and tie a knot.  Make sure it’s long enough to fit comfortably around your head.

Step 6: Host an Monstrous Trick or Treat Party

Now that you have your fantastic monster mask, it’s time to have a monster party! If you haven’t already registered for your Trick or Treat party, you can get an adult to help you fill out the registration form here.

Step 7: Share your Creations

Don’t forget to show off your monster masks by posting your pictures on social media and tagging Children’s Health Foundation! Tag us @cmrf_crumlin and @temple_street_foundation or use #TrickOrTreat and #ChildrensHealthFoundation. We can’t wait to see your monstrous masks!
