The Julie Wren Complementary Therapy Room supported by Irish Cancer Society

The Julie Wren Therapy Room is a complementary therapy service available to patients and their parents or guardians during their journey with cancer treatment.

The Julie Wren Complementary Therapy service in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin opened in December 2011 thanks to the generosity of Esther Wren & supporters in loving memory of her daughter Julie who sadly passed away of cancer at the age of eight. The Irish Cancer Society took over funding the service in Children’s Health Ireland in 2023.

About Julie Wren

Julie was a truly special little girl who gave generously and cared for others in a way that was far more profound than her young age ever suggested. In her short life, she demonstrated that it is possible to change the world in small but powerful and loving ways.

The Trust Julie’s mother Esther established in her name, and in memory of Julie’s father Johnnie, has a hugely positive and powerful effect on the lives and recovery of so many other children through its emphasis on play and other care therapies.
