Children’s Health Foundation Annual Report 2024
Impact, Innovation and Support for Sick Children in Ireland
Children’s Health Foundation is proud to share its 2024 Annual Report, showcasing the real lasting impact made possible through the generosity of donors, fundraisers, corporate partners and communities across Ireland.
Every donation in 2024 helped deliver life-saving care, vital equipment, essential patient and family supports and pioneering paediatric research, ensuring that sick children receive the very best chance – today and into the future.
Our Impact in 2024: What Your Support Made Possible
Throughout 2024, Children’s Health Foundation invested €5.3 million directly into Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres, as well as vital research partnerships. This funding addressed both immediate clinical needs and long-term transformation in children’s healthcare.
Behind every figure is a child, a family and a healthcare team supported during some of their most challenging moments.
Key Highlights from the 2024 Annual Report
In 2024, our generous donor support enabled:
- 64 patient and family support initiatives delivered across Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres. These initiatives have provided essential services that offer comfort and compassion during the most challenging times for patients, parents and families.
- €2.1 million invested in 64 vital, lifesaving equipment. This investment has significantly improved patient care, enhanced the delivery of medical services, and reaffirmed our commitment to providing world-class healthcare facilities for every sick child in Ireland.
- €1.6 million invested in groundbreaking research, with 57 research and innovation grants awarded, supporting over 118 researchers and impacting more than 20 areas of childhood illness.
Transforming Children’s Healthcare Across Ireland
From neonatal mental health programmes to advanced simulation training for paediatric intensive care teams, the 2024 Annual Report highlights how donor-led funding continues to drive innovation, compassion and measurable outcomes.
These investments not only improve clinical care, but also help create child-centred, supportive environments where families feel informed, supported and empowered throughout their hospital journey.
As Ireland prepares for the future of paediatric healthcare, including the opening of the new National Children’s Hospital, Children’s Health Foundation remains committed to ensuring no child is left behind.
Why Your Support Matters
None of this impact would be possible without the generosity of supporters. Every donation helps fund:
- life-saving medical equipment,
- pioneering research into childhood illnesses,
- vital support for patients, parents, and healthcare staff.
Together, we are improving outcomes, advancing treatments and giving sick children the very best chance.
